U'u (Marquesan war club)

U'U, a traditional Marquesan war club, held a dual significance as both a formidable weapon in close combat and a revered symbol of high status within Marquesan society. Warriors cherished it as their most prized possession. This specific u'u was handcrafted by a descendant of Chief Temoana and Vaekehu from the Komai Kea tribe. It was carved from a single piece of oceanic rosewood from Hakaui Valley on Nuku Hiva Island.

Dimension: 74 cm
