"Kouèva" is the name of an ancient Marquesan warrior's hanger (hook) used for the enemies of the tribe. It represents one of the strongest historical elements of fascinating Marquesan culture. It was hand-carved in a local oceania rosewood by Tangy and adorned with two crowned skulls and the eyes of a Tiki.
Tiki represents etua (god) deified ancestors whose supernatural powers sustain and protect the community. On the other hand, the crowned skull is the representation of death and mortality and it serves as a warning to enemies of the tribe.
Kouèva is a unique work of art and an excellent storytelling decoration.
