Metau Manu necklace

The hook is one of the most recognizable symbols of Polynesia. It represents energy, strength, prosperity and abundance. Since the Polynesian livelihood is very much dependent on the ocean waters, the fish hook necklace signifies deep respect and love towards the oceans.

Metau Manu pendant was hand-carved in oceanic rosewood. It displays an ancient Marquesan symbol “etua” (divinity) in the center. It has a black, round, kokuu seed, on each side, which is a local seed, often used throughout history to make traditional Marquesan jewelry.

Note: Kokuu seed was emptied and cleaned from the inside, so the black shell can last long and it can be shipped internationally.
