Poko Tiki Vaevae (Tiki anklet)
Elegant and intriguing, this charming anklet displays the fundamental design element in Marquesan culture – Mata Tiki (the eyes of a Tiki). Tiki represents etua (god) deified ancestors whose supernatural powers sustained and protected the community – and the eyes were the most supernaturally powerful element of the face. Tiki also means creativity, fertility, and abundance.
This authentic Marquesan anklet combines the properties of both an amulet and a talisman into one piece. Poko Tiki Vaevae was hand-carved in oceania rosewood from the Marquesan island of Nuku Hiva and it comes with an elegant, adjustable black line.
