Tiki spiral pendant

Tiki koata (Tiki spiral)

Tiki koata (spiral) was carved in a cow bone on Nuku Hiva Island. Tiki in the Marquesan culture represents “etua” (god) deified ancestors whose supernatural powers sustain and protect the community. The spiral ("koata" in the Marquesan language) symbolizes new life, growth, and strength.
