Shipping policy
Thank you for supporting a small, off-grid art studio in the Marquesas Islands. All artwork is packed and shipped from Nuku Hiva Island, where Cannibal Art is based. Over the past six years, we have shipped Marquesan art to 28 countries worldwide, working regularly with international collectors. Each piece is carefully prepared for international transport and shipped with tracking. Shipping from a remote island requires experience. With us, it is not a gamble.
🌍 Where We Ship
We ship worldwide, from the U.S. and Canada to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
⏳ Processing Times
Our workshop is located deep inside Hakaui Valley, one of the most remote parts of Nuku Hiva Island with no roads and no post office. To ship your artwork, we rent a boat and travel to the main town. We make this trip roughly twice per month depending on weather and sea conditions. Ready-made pieces: shipped on the next available boat trip (typically up to 15 days). You will receive a tracking number once the parcel is officially accepted and scanned by the carrier.
📦 Shipping Methods & Carriers
All parcels are shipped via tracked international mail from French Polynesia.
United States deliveries: Due to recent tariff changes affecting direct postal shipments to the U.S., we currently route U.S.-bound parcels through a trusted logistics partner in Canada, who receives the parcel and forwards it through Canadian postal services. This solution has proven reliable, but it adds approximately one additional week to U.S. delivery times.
Estimated delivery times (typical):
Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand: ~21 days
United States: ~28 days (due to the Canada transit step)
Remote regions worldwide: may take longer depending on location
🛃 Customs & Duties
Some countries may charge import taxes or customs fees. These are the buyer’s responsibility. We provide the required documentation and do our best to make the process smooth.
❤️ Shipping Guarantee
We take great care in packaging each piece. Once the parcel is with the carrier, transit times and handling are outside our direct control but if anything looks delayed or arrives with an issue, please contact us and we will help you investigate and, when applicable, assist with the carrier process.
📬 Still Waiting?
If your tracking seems delayed, reach out anytime. Shipping from a remote island can be slower than major hubs, but we’re always here to help.
🏝️ A Final Note from Ana & Tanguy
When you order from us, you're not buying from a warehouse, you’re supporting a family living off-grid in one of the most beautiful, remote places on Earth. Thank you for your patience, your trust, and your love of real, handmade art.
