Niho Poko Enana
Besides looking edgy, Niho Poko Enana (Skull tooth in Marquesan language) plays a role in both physical and spiritual protection. It mimics the tooth of a wild boar that’s considered a valuable possession in Marquesan culture and the back of the pendant is adorned with the centuries-old traditional Marquesan symbols. The front of Niho Poko Enana displays a human skull as a sign of cannibalism that used to be part of the unique culture of the Marquesas Islands.
The placement of jewelry around the neck is considered paramount in protecting the most vulnerable part of the body from injury and it combines the properties of both an amulet and a talisman into one piece.
This unique pendant was hand-carved in oceania rosewood and it comes with an elegant, adjustable black line.
