Tiki Mask (Tiki holding a child)
This beautiful mask was carved in oceanic rosewood (mio) which is the local wood from the island of Nuku Hiva. The mask features a mother Tiki holding a child.
Tiki in the Marquesan culture represents “etua” (god) deified ancestors whose supernatural powers sustain and protect the community.
