Matake ~2 (Hammerhead shark)

Hammerhead sharks are undoubtedly amongst the most recognizable species of shark on the planet due to their unusual and distinctive head structure, which is flattened and extended into a "hammer" shape. The Marquesas Islands are the home to this magnificent, but endangered type of shark.

Inspired by the hammerheads that can be often spotted around Nuku Hiva Island, Tangy hand-carved this amazing shark in oceanic rosewood and adorned its fins with the Marquesan ancestral symbols for protection.
