Marquesan spear, hand-carved in oceanic rosewood on Nuku Hiva Island. Throughout history, a spear has been used as a hunting and fishing tool, and as a weapon. Warfare was an integral part of life. This spear is a beautiful decorative piece that captures a different time in Marquesan history.
