Swordfish rostrum - spear

Marquesan spear made out of cow bone and two swordfish rostrums. The rostrums are attached to the bone handle using a coconut sennet cordage. The spear is adorned with Tiki and peka - which is the most well-known Marquesan motif in the world. The Marquesans call it e peka enana - the Marquesan cross. (Prior to the era of missionaries - known as etua (divinity).
