Spiral Tiki necklace
A Spiral Tiki necklace was carved in a cow bone and decorated with a kokuu seed and shark vertebral column. Tiki in the Marquesan culture represents “etua” (god) deified ancestors whose supernatural powers sustain and protect the community. The spiral ("koata" in the Marquesan language) symbolizes new life, growth, and strength.
